13

Do you remember when you were about 12 or 13, and didn't care about outfits or making sure everything went well together, and you just adorned yourself with anything you thought was pretty. Making you look a bit like a christmas tree of random cute accessories that are just a bit mental. I'm talking nonsense here I can tell! I used to do that before I understood that just because something looks pretty by its self, it doesn't mean you have to stick it in your hair. I hate those rules! Which is why I love this shoot so much, from Lula 11 styled by Lucy Ewing. It makes me smile thinking of when you could just run around carefree, in all your favourite clothes. If I did that now I would look like a nutcase. The overload of pink would be borderline on tacky but its not - its really cute because the model looks just the right age when you can just about still wear every single thing in your favourite colour. I used to always wear my favourite tshirt with a cow on it with multicoloured cycling shorts and my Pocahontas trainers which lit up when you stepped. When I was about 12 I had these awful colourful ankle length culotte like trousers which I wore with colourful socks showing and trainers which looked ridiculously big. I loved putting random hair clips in my hair too, I had a pair of pink frog clips. Those were fun days!
