For the Fashion Image pathway on my art course at uni we

had to work with an old jacket and work around it in our books, before creating an editorial style photoshoot with it...

I had a tweedy / bouclé style jacket, and the texture and colour of it reminded me of the woodland floor with leaves and debris etc, so I took my photoshoot

is if to say that the jacket has become part of the woodland floor, hence my model having to be stuck to the floor with it. Hope you like the photos!

We're back!

Hi everyone! Hi lovely new followers!

After a lovely summer of being INCREDIBLY lazy regarding blogging Megan and I are ready to blog again!

Here's my first bit of exiting news for anyone whos coming to London or is in London, and LOVES shoes...

Manolo Blahnik has come to Liberty's Of London...

For 3 and a half months there will be a special collection of Manolo's designed in various Liberty prints which you can buy from Liberty, or more realisticly, browse around in Liberty's haha!

Everyone seems to go absolutely crazy for Manolo shoes so if your one of those people it should be pretty cool to see this...

AND

Selfridges on Oxford Street, London, have opened a new shoe department which is supposed to be bigger than the ground floor of the Tate Modern! For people who don't know the Tate Modern, basically this is HUGE! Apparently there's tons of designer shoe brands including Givenchy, Chloé, Stella McCartney, Topshop (YES!) and more. So grab your richest friend and head down there!

Slinky, Silky, Slips...
Underwear as outerwear has taken a new turn. Peachy coloured camisoles, crop tops and blouses in the style of feminine slips, the elegant undergarment of the past, is the alternative top to this hot weather, inbetween seasons. Personally I love old fashioned slips, I think they can look really pretty if worn with the right outfit.

The three main styles are, the vintage 30's and 40's lace trimmed styles, the crochet patterned cropped styles, and the chiffony light blouses, usually worn by younger women.

Flower Halo

Sorry it's been a while since we've posted!

I've just made a flower halo, so thought I'd let you know how to make one, as I said I would do so below, so here goes...

What you'll need:
Craft Wire, 3 flower bundles (£2 each from John Lewis), Ribbon (10mm x 5m is £2.50 from John Lewis)

I hope you can see the materials okay, sorry my desk is so messy!

Holding one end of the wire, measure it around your head to see how much you'll need, but when you cut the wire, add at least 3.5cm extra to cover the part where you link the two ends together.
(The wire I used was a bit too flimsy, so I doubled my amount before cutting, and then twisted the two strands together to make it stronger!)

Then twist the two ends together to make a halo.

Take one of the flowers, (John Lewis do a varitey of craft flowers, I chose to use white ones)
and place the bud on the wire, then wrap the flower's wire stem around the halo. If the stems are really long, just wrap a bit then cut the rest off!

Then cut a long piece of ribbon (make sure the ribbon colour matches the flowers btw) and start to wrap it around the halo, to cover the green stems.

Add flowers as you go a long, wrapping the ribbon around the stem of each flower, one after another.

Bundles of 3 flowers also look really nice every so often. Just put three together really closely without wrapping the ribbon around the bundle until after they are all on together.

Nearly done!

When you get to the end, make a loose loop around the halo, which you can then push the end through, in a way making a loose knot. Then with a needle and thread sew the end in place.

(Btw, if you run out of ribbon halfway through, just do this, and cut another peice of ribbon, sew in place, and carry on!)

Voila!

Favourite Pastel Dresses

These are my favourite celebrity outfits which I've made a mental note of, which are all pastel coloured!

Sienna Miller in Thakoon bustier romper with Jimmy Choo heels. I love this outfit with the rose-pink tinted glasses, they give a quirky 70's vibe to it.

Dakota Fanning looks stunning in an Elie Saab Spring/Summer Haute Couture beaded dress, especially with the nude suede heels.

I love the simplicity of Kate Bosworth's Calvin Klein pink dress with 3/4 length sleeves. The crinkled texture adds a refreshing casual look aswell.

Collared & Sleeveless

Seen as its so hot you don't want to wear long sleeves, yet you still want to wear something with a collar? Well the blouses below with no sleeves but collar seem perfect, I've seen a few people out and about with this kind of thing going on.

The Peter Pan Collar Tunic, £28 from Topshop, is my favourite with it's soft round collar. For those who like their collars pointed, American Apparell have a sleeveless shirt in a really great selection of colours (as always!) with a mesh feel to it. I would personally style the pink one with a flirty skirt, perhaps in light blue or gingham, and for a harder look, the black one witha leather mini skirt and heart print tights.

Cocktail Rings

If you think you have a really mono tone wardrobe with many neutral colours,such as me! there are a couple of accessorize that can really liven your outfit up this summer such as large earrings, cocktail rings and brightly coloured nail polish.

Cocktail rings are beautiful,catching a glimpse of a huge ring really excites some people and it gives an whole new level to your outfit.

I would suggest that whilst wearing one this rings you don't over dose it and wear bracelets, necklace and earrings as well as its too much to look at,so a simple high waisted denim short and an over sized black top would like amazing with a cocktail ring as it brings something to a plain outfit.
