My fashion film for Christopher Raeburn

For my university project I had to create a film, in the style of Andy Warhol's underground films of the 60's and create it for the designer Christopher Raeburn. This is what I made! It stars my lovely friend Suki! She is inside her house, surrounded by views of trees and leaves outside, and yearns to go and explore. The jacket she keeps taking on and off, is a very special jacket. It is a parka made entirely out of old parachute material. She is desperate to put her orange parachute parka jacket to use and breathe the fresh air of outdoors and explore beyond her window. And in the end, she does and is very very happy.

I found it amazing to discover how Christopher Raeburn creates such an intricate pattern for his parka jackets out of a material which isn't primarily made for clothing. But its practial you see, and Raeburn's work is about being practical in the coolest way. In my film there are many references to the history of the jacket's fabric by the funny little parachute men you see floating around like handkerchiefs, and the little animations of Suki flying the jacket in a way similar to a parachute with strings attached. Hope you like it!
